Exposition Le monde d’après, 1944-1954. Des lendemains qui chantent ?

Plongée au cœur des années 1944-1954, dans le quotidien des français, où les traces de l'après-guerre se mêlent aux espoirs d'un monde meilleur et aux réalités économiques, sociales et politiques.

À la fin du conflit mondial, la France et l'Europe se retrouvent face à des défis immenses : la reconstruction matérielle, la réorganisation politique et sociale, mais aussi la remise en question des valeurs d'avant-guerre. Le musée d’Aquitaine est le premier musée d’histoire en France à consacrer une exposition à cette décennie charnière entre la Seconde Guerre mondiale et les “Trente Glorieuses”. Alors que les bouleversements géopolitiques actuels font basculer l’équilibre des puissances en place depuis 1945, cette exposition résonne avec notre actualité.
À travers des objets emblématiques, des meubles, des affiches, des documents d'archives et des images inédites, cette exposition met en lumière la réalité des Françaises et des Français, leur reconstruction, leurs espoirs, leurs doutes. De la robe de la Libération, à la cuisine en Formica (aujourd’hui très vintage !) au Juke box américain de 1954, des objets témoignent de cette histoire : un bureau de la Sécurité sociale de 1946, le bureau du maire Jacques Chaban-Delmas, un tracteur du plan Marshall  et même une 2CV ! Un isoloir incarnant l’obtention du droit de vote pour les femmes est installé au cœur d’un parcours de visite qui présente les progrès techniques de la période, les acquis sociaux hérités du programme de la Résistance, les grands combats de la justice mais surtout : la vie au quotidien.
